ABOUT ME
I’ve always been fascinated by people — what shapes us, how we cope, and how we can grow through life’s toughest moments. My own experiences with grief and navigating unexpected loss played a big part in drawing me to this work, fuelling both my empathy and my determination to help others through similar challenges. Becoming a social worker wasn’t something I just stumbled into; it felt like the right place for my curiosity, compassion, and drive to make a difference. Now, as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker based in Warradale, SA, I work mainly with adults and adolescenets to help them navigate life’s complexities, rediscover their strengths, and find new ways forward.
I use a mix of evidence-based approaches — Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, and Interpersonal Therapy — but my focus is always on making therapy feel like a genuine, collaborative conversation. We explore together: your stories, your patterns, your hopes for the future. I’m down-to-earth, curious, and not afraid to gently challenge when it’s helpful.
I have a particular interest in grief and loss, especially sudden and unexpected bereavement (including suicide), and men’s mental health — two areas often marked by silence and misunderstanding. I also work with anxiety, stress, and relationship issues, creating space for people to be seen, heard, and understood. My career has spanned community mental health organisations, high schools and universities, sporting clubs, acute mental health services, and senior clinical management roles — each chapter adding another layer to my understanding of how people live, cope, and grow.
While my primary focus is adults, I also work with teenagers, offering coaching and mentoring to help develop life skills, confidence, and resilience — giving young people tools they can carry for life.
Outside of work, life is a little slower: golf on weekends, unwavering loyalty to the Carlton Football Club, and daily adventures with Pippa, our spirited Kelpie x Border Collie puppy.
