Starting out…

Starting my own counselling practice in Warradale has been one of the biggest — and most meaningful — steps I’ve ever taken. For as long as I can remember, I’ve known that counselling and supporting people through life’s hardest seasons was what I wanted to do. To create a space where people could come, sit, and feel seen. But getting here hasn’t been easy.

There’s a lot of noise that comes with starting something on your own — the fear of not earning enough, of not being “established” enough, of leaving the safety of a regular job. And yet, something in me knew it was time to trust that quiet, steady pull toward purpose.

SJT Counselling grew from that belief — that the right space, created with care and intention, can make all the difference. I wanted to build something warm and modern, not clinical or cold. A place where real conversations about grief and loss, men’s mental health, and emotional wellbeing can happen honestly.

Located in the heart of Warradale, just minutes from Glenelg, Marion, and Brighton, SJT Counselling offers Adelaide-based therapy that’s approachable, evidence-based, and grounded in compassion.

Every day, I’m reminded why I took this leap. Seeing this vision come to life — meeting people where they are and holding space for their stories — has been the most rewarding part of it all.

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out for mental health support or you’re curious about what counselling could look like, I’d love to welcome you here.
